You! Bobco, dougalsdad (or dougal) or Sakara. To be fair I do not know enough about sstickley as I have never met him so will humbly and belatedly wish him good luck. Also to be fair to Peter a difficult decision had to be made and good luck to him. He has kept this forum going through thick and thin and I sincerely thank him for that, as I would not have met so many of the nice people here on the forum. I'm just not the type to just say “Congrats to all” if I do not really mean it. Yes in this world you have no choice sometimes with who you have to work or play with, but this doesn’t have to mean you have to roll over and accept it. As I said opinion now voiced and it’s time to move on :-) :-)

RE: New Forum Team Members
It's great to see we are causing controversy without even getting as far as deleting posts or locking threads Big Grin

I personally think in the past Peter, Dave and Steevil have done an excellent job of locking sensitive/controversial threads (including a few of my own) and deleting inappropriate ones. Hopefully the three "newbys" will be able to continue this, so please be patient whilst we are settling into the new position.

In the past I think Dave has done a great job of seperating his "posting" identity from his "moderator" one, I will try to follow his example and state in the thread if I'm writing as a moderator. I will also try to follow Steevil's example and where appropriate PM posters explaining why their thread has been locked/deleted.

RE: New Forum Team Members
Personally i don't give a stuff who moderates the board. Never had a disagreement i couldn't sort out on the open forum so i can't see what difference it makes. My only worry is that it becomes little more than an information repository where the standard answers are rolled out again and again.

I like the irreverance of many threads and as long as the answers were in there, who cares if they go off topic or devolve into a humerous slanging match. God forbid it ends up like YD.

What is YD? I did a search after I got back from my holiday were I did the OW and AOW courses for a diving forum found this one and have not looked for others since (it took me about 2 months to realise the site consisted of more than just the Forum).
