Great Whites & Stupid People!

Unfortunately, this is not a joke, but it will probably seem like one!

Last night, I found I'd somehow recorded a programme called 'Shark Attack' on Sky+, so thought I'd give it a watch... It was about a guy who investigated shark attacks, I think he called himself something like a 'Shark Psychologist'. Anyway, most of it was about surfers and swimmers who were attacked swimming in water where seals were present, so pretty much known hunting grounds for Great Whites. Seems crazy?? Read on.... But then there was a bit about a couple of divers who'd been attacked. Both in waters where GW's are known to live. Worryingly one of them was at 17m when he was hit and had his legs lacerated but mananged to fight the shark off. I started to think that it was an unprovoked attack until they interviewed his support crew guy who said 'Yeah, whilst the guys are diving I pass the time on the boat by fishing with a 200lb line and big live fish as bait!!!!' The second guy had a bag under his arm which I'm assuming contained fish he'd speargunned. Funnily enough he got his arm bitten off when the Shark went for the bag!

Could these people be any more dumb??

Maybe next they could try walking through a Lion's den covered in steak??

I met a guy in the South Pacific who was telling me how dangerus Grey Reef Sharks were, how he'd been attacked himself on a dive. Turned out he was diving, solo, spearfishing on an off shore reef frequented by sharks, and was tieing the dead fish to his waist. A shark came up and tried to take the dead fish, but instead bit his bum. He wasn't too impressed when I burst out laughing and called him a prat!
