Farne Isles
Spent the last bank holiday weekend in Northhumberland diving in the Farne Isles with the grey seals, what a brilliant 3 days, this my second trip there and the seals this year were far more friendly and inquisitive, to the point of actually being able to touch them lightly. This may have been due to the weather being cool and cloudy as opposed to the hot and sunny conditions of the previous year. we were in a large group of around 30 divers so needed two boats Glad Tidings 3 & 7, the sea was kind to us for the first two days but cut up rough on the trip back on monday, with several people suffering from the dreaded mal de mer. needless to say a long session in the Ship Inn was required for recovery ! This is a must do experience of the North East.
