Return to Shagra
On the spur of the moment, I thought "i need a holiday - NOW" and a couple of weeks later landed in Marsa Alam for some nice easy relaxing warm, blue water diving.

Marsa Shagra is about 1/2 hour from the airport, you can stay in tents, huts or lodges. Only the lodges have air conditioning and they are a long walk from the dive shed on the beach. We opted for tents because I loved my tent last year.

Waking to the view of the sunrise at 5.30 was spectacular

it was very hot and you had to get up at sunrise and plop in the sea or else boil alive in the tent.

We did dives on the house reef, went up and down the coast on the back of a truck to do other dives and had a day on a big boat doing some "hardly ever dived sites". Also managed a wreck dive on the last diving day which was lovely.

The water was 29 - 30 degrees. A 3/2 mm shorty was enough even for me. Fab week, lovely diving, great company and lots of fun.

You'd love it, very laid back and relaxed

Fuji F50 (recently flooded my F30 which was just as good) - easy camera to use, you can have auto or manual settings and even a eejit like me can take half decent pictures!

RE: Return to Shagra
Great pics. I was looking at shagra as an option before our doomed Dahab trip. Not sure I fancy the tents though

The tents are great.

The house reef there is fantastic I thought. Glad you had a great time Vonny, and some fantastic photos to bring back as well.
