Hi,

My name is Nik. Having been snorkelling for more years than I care to remember and always promising myself to get round to giving scuba a go I've recently been bitten by the diving bug following a couple of Try Dives with my local BSAC club (Canterbury Diver). I have loved every second of it and joined last week with a view to training up to Sports Diver level by next summer so I can enjoy the delights of the English Channel.

I am fortunate enough to live by the sea (Hythe) and work in Dover so access to the water should be relatively simple for me.

Thought I'd say hi here as it certainly appears to be one of the friendlier forums related to diving that I have come across unlike some I could mention! Rolleyes

Off to Florida this Friday for a fortnight, sadly as I have the family with me and so many commitemts as well as only a couple of days in the Keys I will only be able to squeeze in a quick bit of snorkelling when I'm there. Perhaps next time I'm over I'll be able to devote a wee bit more time to diving (I can always dream - realistically it seems that my diving is more likely to be the slightly chillier but arguably more interesting - Channel).
