In a moment of utter madness, I've signed up for a 10k run in November in aid of the RNLI.

The last time I did any running I was about 13 and was forced to do it by an evil PE teacher.

Have you got a training plan for the race and more importantly have you got the right running shoes for your feet?

To be able to run 10K you have more than enough time to prepare but depending on age/shape the correct running shoes are a must as if you have not done any running for a long time you could have ankle/knee/hip problems if you do too much too fast.

RNLI have sent me a "fool proof " training plan and I have a pair of very comfy Nikes with one of those ipod sensor things in..

I doubt I'll be breaking any olympic records, but as long as I raise a few quid I'll be happy!
