If they don't then give me them back when you find some cheap enough to buy. I would sell them to you but there's just something wrong with a guy paying for pink regs.

I can let you have them when I'm back in Hull on Thursday. Now, shut up moaning and just use them til you find something better.
Ok Thanks,You are forcefull ! Ohmy Must be the stress of getting older.LolLol

Im not flush with cash so think i may just write this whole experience off,and not use this place again for servicing. i have been recommended a service place local to me by another member on this forum so i shall try them i think. Thanks for the offer of the reg's polly, but i really dont like being responsible for someone else's kit( imagine if it went faulty whilst i had it!) i got my eye on a couple of what appears to be looked after reg's, so ill see what happens .Thumbup
If you ring up Apeks first then they'll tell you if this is the case. Secondly what does the reg set comprise of? some of it is reuseable and I might be willing to make you an offer on the basis that I know they don't work. (but not until 1st Nov, due to having overspent this month)
If that doesn't work then SDS are doing a DS4 1st stage with an ATX40 2nd stage for £125 delivered, if that doesn't give you all the parts you need to make a complete set of working regs I'd be most suprised.

RE: free flowing reg!!!
Collected my regs today, they consist of an apeks first stage(model unknown) a apeks reflex t40d regulator an old but working oil filled spg and a lp hose for bcd. Apparantly the fault lie's with the first stage(so i was told when picking them up) so the t40d reg may be of use to someone. Im currently watching a set of oceanic regs with triple console, an aqua lung set(titan + ax) and a apeks set consisting of a t20 octo a tx40 and a dst first stage. any advice on which may be the most reliable or desirable purchase? price wise there all similar. The oceanic set look newer and come in a reg bag(some indication they been looked after). Im new still to this great passtime and would appreciate the advice of you wonderfull veteran divers with your wealth of kit knowledgeThumbup (besides keeping the lp hose off my regs for when i get my dry suit the rest is open to offers,JUST HAD NEW BITS FITTED)ill post a pic of them eventually on the ads section. Also if i get a set with a triple gauge ill have a brand new oil filled wrist compass for sale.

RE: free flowing reg!!!
Hi mate I have been reading this thread and have my fingers crossed for you. Obviously things have not worked out as you wanted.
How much are you wanting to spend on replacing your gear? The reason I ask is even though by the looks of it they are cold water spec'd they may or should require servicing, unless they are new.

RE: free flowing reg!!!
The set's im looking at are going for about hundred quid or below(finances tight) i know what your saying about servicing but my apeks set although old were working fine before service so as long as there working ok( i have also been told this by a service dude that they will be fine if used regually and looked after i.e rinsed after dives etc) i will be skipping the servicing part temporarly.Im not foolhardy with my safety just miffed at what still appears to me,to be that the service killed my reg's.Have also read that regually used regs rarely fault on many different forums, but i also realise that it only takes one fault to kill you.(my friend had he's regs serviced((which he had from new)) when he got them back he tried them on his cylinder in his shed and they blew up!!! the service center when informed said that there was a recall on his regs that they were'nt aware of and had'nt done! so im not convinced of the safety of new regs either! just happy to accept that diving has it's dangers)Thumbdown

RE: free flowing reg!!!
oops, just seen this as I've just come back from holiday.
The Apeks T40d 2nd stage is worth a little bit second hand and you can still get service kits for them (same as a TX40). however the service kits for the 1st stage that came with them haven't been available from Apeks for 18 months.
I recently paid £20 delivered for a T40d on ebay and considered it a bargin.
Good luck with the Oceanics, all that I've tried breathe quite differently from the Apeks, but are still great regs.
