Dry suit done.
Passed dry suit specialty at Stoney this saturday!
Hopefully will open up a whole new world of options! Felt very hot in that drysuit though.
Five days a week my body is a temple. The other two, it's an amusement park. |

RE: Dry suit done.
Well done, passed mine last month and loving the warm dry toasty after a dive feeling. Kitting up has to be timed just right so you don't get too hot.
Course content you go through the different types of suits pro cons etc in the classroom care of the suits taking on off, fit etc. Then a pool session learning about squeeze and too much air then some drills, bcd , weight removal replacement. Disconnecting the inflator hose. Fin pivots and dry suit emergencies. Then onto open water to repeat all of this in two dives. |

Not sure what undersuit you were using but remember you can add / remove lots of thin layers rather than have one big thick quilited duvet undersuit... I'm a "thin layers" type personally and that helps me regulate my body temperature according to time of year. Congrats in any case. See you soon I hope! Got to be easier than trying to contort your body so your left shoulder is highest! Five days a week my body is a temple. The other two, it's an amusement park. |

No was all pretty straightforward, thinking about getting a cuff dump though. Got to be easier than trying to contort your body so your left shoulder is highest! [/quote] Im using a cuff dump and want to change to the other type when I get a new suit, no control every time you raise your arm you dump air. I hope to take lots of picturs and can see it being a problem. |

RE: Dry suit done.
I've only ever used a shoulder dump, they're pretty easy after a while. I normally use mine when ascending and by then I am near vertical anyway.
