RE: Weekend in Oban
I'm attempting Ben Nevis that day - apologies if I fall off the mountain before we get to dive.
You will find me in the nearest pub or hospital....! |

RE: Weekend in Oban
Excellent - looks like we'll be in a pub before 4, which may be a bad thing.
I am really looking forward to this weekend. I had recently lost the will or desire to dive in the UK and have not been in the water since May. I blame this solely on having some stupendous dives on The Brothers in June - having done that I have not been able to get motivated to do anything here. But then Oban came up - I hope we can get on Hispania. Such a lovely wreck with the excitement of a bit of current at the end of slack. And the MishNish on Saturday night.!! Whoo hoo! |

RE: Weekend in Oban
Hopefully, we'll do the Hispania. I haven't dived it yet...
If we're meeting in the pub, I like most lagers, most decent single malts and peanuts. This isn't a hint, it's just for general information.. |

RE: Weekend in Oban
Well, I'm technically setting off straight from school on Thursday afternoon, sleeping in the car at a service station and doing Nevis (attempting anyway, if I'm on my own I'll have to be careful) on Friday. Probably won't get to the pub until about 6ish. (Don't worry, I'm VERY good at catching up!)
However, I'm out on the beers tomorrow night so I might need my bed on Thursday night, in which case I'll be there for 3ish on Friday. The sparkly shoes are already packed... Edit: Scrap that. Just been looking at the weather and hours of daylight available and think it will probably get a bit nasty up near the top. Don't think I should head up there on my own, especially as I pretty much nearly got blown off it last time I attempted it. Think I'll leave it for next summer...will be a good excuse to head back there! And there you have it. A moment of sensibility (or was it just the lure of the pub?) Just the one moment though. I'm not about to make a habit of it. |
