Komodo Diving
I've just returned back from a trip out to Komodo, have to say that the diving there is absolutely phenomenal, I'd happily say the best I've yet to do. From day one we were treated to all sorts of rarerities, e.g ghost ornate pipe fish, sea horses (including a pygmy), mandarin fish, frog fish, leaf fish tthe list is endless. Coral was vibrant, healthy and diverse, soft and hards, we also had a number of dives with mantas and sharks and a brief encouner with dolphins.....
Currents, as we know from recent reports, certainly need to be respected, I don't think I've been to a place that has so many, so consitently, so strong, but then without them I guess it wouldn't be so full of life. We went out on a liveaboard with Worldwide Dive and Sail, again absolutely superb service, guiding, food and accomodation. The whole trip has worked out to be quite expensive once I factored in the long haul flights, hotels for the transfers etc, but in my mind money well worth spent, I'd recommend it to anyone. No video this time I'm afraid, luggage allowance just would not permit.... Photos will be uploaded somewhere soon though.....
