RE: Suunto Stinger/Spyder battery replacement
I see your point, but £75 includes the recalibration of it. No doubt they conveniently failed to tell you that when you got your quote. This really boils my blood, how many times do you hear shop owners moaning about not being able to keep up with internet prices? or other divers putting you on a guilt trip to support you local dive shop? (usually their mates) and then rob you blind by charging £30 to £40 over the normal price.

RE: Suunto Stinger/Spyder battery replacement
My kit arrived from Smartinterface on Friday. It was a doddle to replace the battery, new 'O' ring fit snug into the recess.
Tested it this morning to 35mtrs and it's still working Thumbup
Like others have said though, it's not for everyone. If my Stinger had still been under warranty I wouldn't have opened it myself.
This is the 4th battery it's needed in since 2003 and it was almost impossible for me to get it sent back to the UK and brought back out here again.

I also have one of the kits and its great.
The tool is currently doing the rounds with some buddies.
It's very popular, and is gettting me plenty of free Beer.
I wouldn't recommend it if your Stinger is under warranty, but otherwise it's fine.
If anyone would like to borrow my tool in exchange for Beer tokens PM me.
