RE: a bit of advice on courses
Thanks AG.

Yes if your GF wanted a friendly face I could get on the course, with us its all done in drysuits so she should not be to cold, also you could delay it till maybe June/July if she wanted.

Silence I Keel you!

RE: a bit of advice on courses
Actually....that reminds me. A mate of mine did exactly that! He has paid for his Open water with a place in Chesterfield I think? but he has never (and probably will never) done his course!!

If you decide on UK rather that Egypt I can always ask him if he wanted to sell his place to you? (he may sell it a bit cheaper to you....gotta be a bit of haggling to be done!
half a denara? you must be mad.....bugger we're right back with python!Tongue
Just send me a message if you want me to ask him.

RE: a bit of advice on courses
BSAC = Beards, Sandals And Crowbar is the best one I've heard so far.

Nik - a paid up newbie learning to dive over the winter with Canterbury BSAC divers (in a nice warm pool) with the prospect of starting several nice chilly lake sessions in Feb/March 2009! It's cost effective, they loan all the kit to train in, good training from enthused instructors and a lovely bunch of people to boot (well the ones I've met).

Personally I'm not bothered about learning quickly as I'm enjoying the experience too much - even if it is only a pool session a week so for me the BSAC route is perfect. Thumbup
