bit worried after my egypt trip!
had a lovely holiday diving in the red sea last week BUT i THINK something isnt right. on my 2nd from last dive i was around 15metres down diving on nitrox 32%. all of a sudden i got pins and needles in my forehead. go a bit worried by this so asended a few metres to around 7m. pins seemed to go and i came up after saftey stop. as i was getting back onto the boat i got quite dizzy asif i had spun around on the spot once or twice. (nothing major but i thought it was a bit strange). anyway i told my instructor and he said it was because i was yoyoing quite a bit up and down in the water and that caused the pins and needles.
next day seemed ok, did a shore dive, around 20mins in, pins came back on forehead again so i asended and it seemed to come and go without warning. i stayed around the 5m mark and it all seemed fine. finished the dive. but im now getting random itchy parts on my body ( not anything visible though like a rash) one moment itch can be on my back for 1 second then ill be fine for 10minutes, then i iwll get an itch on my leg. this happenes all thoughout the day now. and my ears havent popped back to normal yet either.....

sorry for the long post but anyone got any ideas what happening??

RE: bit worried after my egypt trip!
seems like strange and random symptoms your getting there and there are many possible answers for them.

Im sorry but I think that speculation over the internet is at best unproductive and at worse scaremongering.

Get yourself to a local doctor with knowledge of diving injuries just to ease your mind if nothing else and the sooner the better. Please please please dont go into denial and hope it will all go away.

Diving Dieseases Research Centre in Plymouth (and other recompression chambers) have staff on duty 24/7. Please ring 01752 209999, or the coastguard NOW...they will advise you over the phone and will not make you feel stupid if it is something unrelated to diving

Tis better to keep quiet and appear to be an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it beyond doubt

I am not a doctor but it sound like possible medical problem the headaches could just be CO2 build up and when you have asended your breathing gets slowers and fuller but give these guys a call

RE: bit worried after my egypt trip!
I would suggest that you go and see a doctor. Even if it turns out to be nothing you should set your mind at rest.

I'd really like a signiture, but due to a terminal lack of imagination . . .

Wouldnt a full cylinder of pure oxygen help, no harm in trying?

RE: bit worried after my egypt trip!
ok the main doctor phoned me and doesnt think its dci. if it had been appartley i would have got pains on the plane on the way home and because its been over 72 hours since sytoms started and havent got worse he doesnt think its anything major. pins and needles were down to mask squeese he thinks.
going to give it another 24hrs he said and see how things are with the itching.

seems ok at the moment then. next day or so will tell. said if it gets a tiny bit worse then he wants me down there right away.
