Missing emails

Is anyone else suffering from missing emails? I've had a few people report this problem recently and I'm wondering how widespread it is. I receive emails happily from most people but some are just unable to get through. It doesn't end up in Spam, I haven't blacklisted them and they can't even hit 'Reply' to get through to me.

It appears that there are blacklists that take effect before the message even gets to your email account. If someone using a particular domain sends out a lot of Spam, that whole domain can go on the blacklist so your friend innocently using the same domain company gets blacklisted too through no fault of their own.

I dislike Spam as much as the next person but do we want our email providers deciding who we should receive emails from?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't unfortunately. If providers didn't use something like block lists to try to control the amount of spam you receive then you wouldn't be able to see the emails you really want for the mountain of spam.

Most providers work hard to remove spammers from their network and avoid getting onto the lists in the first place, but unfortunately sometimes they end up on the lists anyway.
