UKD Xmas Dive Trip
As myself and Polly wandered between two pubs in Oban we decided two things
1. we didn't mind if we dived that weekend as long as we can spend time in a pub 2. we should consider a Xmas dive/social So ... .lets have a UKD Xmas Dive trip with a difference. No dive. Its important that we badge this as a dive trip as it makes it easier to explain to our partners why we are off for the night. Firstly, is there a desire for this to happen? If you think its a good idea give some thought as to where we should meet. If anybody mentions camping it had better be linked to a large heater. The key thing is that old friends can meet up and giggle .. we can meet people from the boards .. we can have a great night induced by pale ale or similar. |

RE: UKD Xmas Dive Trip
Yes...yes...yes!
I'm happy to have people stay at mine in York - as many as we can squeeze in. We also need some clever bod to get on photoshop and add pictures of our faces to pictures of real people diving...to assist with the disguise of it being a 'dive trip'. Other than that I'll go anywhere there is a pub and some people to talk to... ...and I still think we should do it in the style of a 'Christmas Awards Ceremony', if we can come up with some amusing categories! |

RE: UKD Xmas Dive Trip
Nice one - Xmas UKD Dive Awards
We can have awards like ... "most outrageous poster" or "pillock that posts in the style of Badknees or Air Guzzler" ..."misuse of the English Language award" - ok that has to be Air Guzzlers |

RE: UKD Xmas Dive Trip
Then again, it could just end up being you and me in the pub again, Phil.
I shall give you the award for 'Best Excuse Given To Hold My Hand' (2008 only, I've had better...) ...and you can give me an award for just being generally fabulous! And then we will get drunk. Sounds like a plan! |

RE: UKD Xmas Dive Trip
Polly is always open to bribery and always will be.
I'd say we should hold it somewhere near Cappers, Stoney or Gildy and do it on a Saturday night- that way people can dive during the day, get hammered and head home Sunday afternoon...or they can also have the option of diving on Sunday as well if they want to take it a bit easier on Saturday night. If any of you guys are pencilled in to be instructing or doing courses at any of these places in the next few weeks, let us know and we'll see what we can arrange. Would be nice to be able to put some more names to faces...and would also be nice not to have to hang out with the just the usual bunch of tossers! I am happy to supply some chocolate santas to have as our awards! Only a few weeks left now til Christmas. Quick - write down which weekends you can and can't do and we'll sort something out that seems to fit the most number of people best. Zok - are you allowed to come out and play yet? Also, I don't quite know what award it should receive but Zog's kitten analogy is one of the funniest things I've ever read on here...even if he was very drunk when writing it. I'll post him a Santa to Dusseldorf specially. |

When and where, that's the first bit to tie down, I am always at Stoney on the 31st but I assume that this is another date?
