REALLY WARM dive boots and gloves

REALLY WARM dive boots and gloves
After going diving today I've decided my main weakness is that my extremities get too cold way too quickly

I'm not surprised

I'm on 3mm boots that cost a tenner and 5mm gloves that cost 15

I'm after your opinions on the warmest boots and gloves

Gloves that don't totally restrict hand movement are a preference but to be honest I can survive if my hands are warmer than they were today.

Haha

I've been checking out the Pinnacle stuff which looks like the mutts but I they're pricey and I don't want to go out and spend loads if they aren't worth the heavy price tag.

All help is appreciated

Beanie

RE: REALLY WARM dive boots and gloves
Until you get some new gloves - try putting the plastic ones from petrol stations underneath. They also help with putting wet gloves on but I find they keep my hands a bit warmer too.

I may well have to try it next time

My body was fine
It wa\s just my bloody hands and feet

I mean yeh it's a given they get colder quicker
But I couldn't move my fingers after 15 minutes

RE: REALLY WARM dive boots and gloves
a vote here for the pinnacle stuff....i suffer from reynards and the only gloves that keep me anything like warm are the karbonflex 4mm and they are nice and supple as well

Tis better to keep quiet and appear to be an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it beyond doubt

Northern Diver 5mm Superstretch gloves get my vote
They're the most flexible glove I've come across and keep my hands toasty, although I've heard others say they allowed a lot of flushing.

"what's the dive plan?" "Errrrrr...jump in, swim round and get out?"

Buy a dry suit & get some dry gloves then you will be toasty

RE: REALLY WARM dive boots and gloves
I got 4th element 5mm. Snug and kept me reasonably warm on a 43min dive at 9 degrees. had to put on the plastic gloves 1st thoguh to aid in getting them on.

I'd really like a signiture, but due to a terminal lack of imagination . . .

Another vote for the ND super stretch here, My wife uses them and she gets cold in the Med! 7c yesterday and no complaints about cold hands.

RE: REALLY WARM dive boots and gloves
As far as boots go, are we talking a semi here or a drysuit with neoprene socks and wetsuit boots?
