It's not published by any of the tech agencies but I found this http://www.dive-tech.co.uk/deco%20for%20divers.htm to be an excellent book for the deco side.
Sorried if I've misunderstood you on this, but it sounds like you're suggesting that PADI don't want you to do a tech course?? If so, then nothing could be further from the truth (if that was true, then they wouldn't run the courses)... however they do, most certainly, want to ensure that you are aware of what you are taking on, and make it quite clear that tech diving is not for everyone.
The opening few pages of the manual were quite scary. Im sure i read that it said they were just making sure you wanted to do it!
Ah yes , not quite sure how many times they say "and you could die", but certainly enough to drive the point home.... and yep, designed to make sure you really want to, and really understand what it means. Nothing fluffy there, eh!
Although there are no photos of him in the book Nor me. But I do recommend it as well - buy it. It's great.
Im reading the book nice and slowly and doing the exercises as I go. Its quite a good book really for PADI. Got to print off the erata and tech40 knowledge review mind.[/align]
first pool session was tonight! It was a success! The drills are quite easy compared to what I had anticipated. But I only had a shorty on! so i shall see what they are like when i have a full wet or dry suit on.
