That's how my Mrs and Daughter did it a couple of years ago..... I'd definitely recommend it, as, don't forget... during the OW dives, there is quite a lot of sitting around on platforms waiting for your whole course to take it in turns going through drills. So even if you don't feel the cold normally.... during training you may well do!

Best of luck with the course..... and welcome to UKD! :)

i did my dry suit with my ow,not a bloody chance i was jumping in cappers at the begining of jan when it was no more than 3 in a semi or wet suit,in fact,im that soft now,i won't do it in a dry suit.

ps,good luck with your course,it one of the best things you will ever do
  3. You will be fine at Aquasport, I know they use drysuits for their students and they have their own training pool so all the confined water stuff is done on site. I say do the training now and then you will be ready for some proper diving when the water warms up a bit

Mark seems sound as a pound so I'd seriously consider doing your OW with him anyway even if he is a bit GUEy ;-)
  5. Mark is a sound guy. I havn't done any training with him but when I was phoning around looking at buying my Halcyon wing he was the only shop that offered to meet up at a dive site so I could do a few dives with him so I could try it out then when I went to the shop to buy the wing he spent several hours with me setting it up and even done a small repair on my Suunto Vyper FOC that most shops would of charged for. But having said all that the guys at Aquasport and Scuba + Outdoors are ok too and if you are in Solihull they are both on your doorstep
