DIVING IN SOLENT
I am trying to get reliable GPS co ordinates for wrecks to dive in the Solent and by the needles.
West side of solent...I have looked around but cant seem to find many.
If anyone dives these areas and knows of any good wrecks i would appreciate any feed back....Thanks....Deano

RE: DIVING IN SOLENT
You're probably talking to the wrong people... Few divers have co-ordinates unless they have their own boat.

Most skippers of commercial boats have books of co-ordinates, but they are usually pretty cagey about giving them out.

BSAC clubs with their own boats may have co-ordinates too - Have you tried contacting local clubs?

Ian

RE: DIVING IN SOLENT
Sorry I never saw this thread before, I have dived a few over the past few months, when I have "researched" each dive I have usually found the coords on googling the dive site name, for the most common dive sites have a look on http://www.tdc-dive.co.uk http://www.witteringdivers.co.uk http://www.newdawndive.co.uk & http://www.tritonscuba.co.uk, they may have the co ords on them but if they dont as I said just google the dive stie name (usually followed by "wreck" to narrow it down) and you should find them. Have a look in my profile to see what I have dived on, but I wouldnt say any stand out from any others, all depends on conditions really, Off the IOW I'm told U1195 and Reindeer are good if you can find them but not had the chance to do them yet, weather usually has got in the way, Camberwell & French Barque amongst others are some I want to do too...eta, most of my local (of what there is!) dives have been off Witterings and the east of IOW which is all East of Solent tho
