KWTT drygloves - review
Saturday and Sunday saw the first outings of mine and peanut's new KWTT drygloves from Seaskin.

We decided on these after a few recommendations from some helpful people here. After following their size guide I ordered 2 pairs of complete systems with large (size 9) unlined gloves. Alarm bells should have been ringing at this point as there is no way on earth peanut has the same size hands as me even though mine aren't shovels by any stretch of the imagination.

So last Wednesday a nice shiny package arrived from Seaskin... only one pair of gloves Crying bugger. I figured as Peanut suffers with his hands in the cold he should get these ( I know I'm a nice dad Big Grin ) but I tried them on anyway. The gloves fit, on their own, but not with an inner glove (cheapy fleece glove from Ethel Austins)

Roll forward to Thursday morning and I phoned Seaskin, spoke to a very helpful chap who apologised for only one set of gloves and was happy to send out a pair of extra large gloves and rings for me, but they wouldn't be here in time for Saturday Sad

Fitting them to Peanut's drysuit on Friday night was a bit of a faff as we were all fingers and thumbs and were double checking which way round certain rings went but it didn't actually take that long.

BIG tip: a small amount of silicon grease on the o-rings makes it a LOT easier to get the plastic ring and drygloves on.

His dives went by with completely dry hands - result! We got home on Saturday to find the postie had left my gloves with a neighbour, so hats off to Seaskin again for getting the gloves delivered quickly. Couldn't be arsed to fit them that night so left them til the morning. This time there was no problems fitting them, almost expert-like Wink

It's a bit nerve-wracking entering the water for the first time, half expecting to feel an icy trickle down your wrist (sound familiar BK? 001_tt2 ) but stayed bone-dry and toasty warm. Apologies to Scrawn for gloating while she froze Wink

Another tip, which I heard from someone on here, I forget who but thanks anyway, is to put a small length of bungee down your wrist seal to allow the gloves to equalise as your wrist seal is still sealed against your wrist so even if your glove floods you mostly end up with a cold hand. Works a treat.

So, in my extremely limited experience of drygloves, I don't think you can go far wrong with these gloves but check the sizing if you can.

Another bonus is the PVC gloves themselves (Showa 660) are available from Arco for less than half the price Seaskin are charging. Or they also do a lined glove for a few quid more

RE: KWTT drygloves - review
I put a length of 0.5mm tube between my gloves and suit to equalise. Without it they crunch my hands and get really cold.

That's what I ended up with after the call to Seaskin, size 10 (extra large). You sure it was me and not Peanut you told about the tube? Wink I'm still waiting on Mike's to get in my Arctic leggings after ordering them 2 weeks ago so I'll ask them about the tubing next time I'm there

RE: KWTT drygloves - review
Ordered them two weeks ago, was told they'd be in for Friday, then it was Tuesday, then the following Friday. Need to ring in the morning to check again. Thinking I'll just get a refund to be honest
