RE: alternative to explorers
That's because I'm an idiot. It's Thompson, not Thomas Cook. D'oh!

maybe i'm doing something wrong but I cant seem to find these....

Use this link http://www.thomson.co.uk/package-holidays.html

On the selection pane on the left, pick 'A holiday', fill in the dates you want, select your departure airport, then use the destination drop down to choose 'Egypt - Red Sea'. You can then use the 'Resort/accommodation' drop down to pick 'Sharm El Sheikh - Ocean Club Hotel'

RE: alternative to explorers
Hello Smile

I used to dive with Ocean College a few years ago and one of the Instructors set up his own Dive centre and i've been with them ever since. Small set-up but more personal, Alun is quite famous in Sharm now! Lol

I paid 150sterling for 5 days diving which i thought was a competitive price? Don't know what other companies are charging as i don't shop around anymore? I can personally recommend Elite Diving though.

Hope that helps? Smile Good luck with your search.

thanks for the reply bob - yeah I guess this is what I was trying to confirm with the rest of the diving community. I always thought that explorers last minute deals were just amazing, and after a couple of weeks of searching for a replacement, I think you're right, noone has stepped up to fill the gap.

that sounds rubbish. Maybe in light of the fact that no-one is running lazyboy cheap decent diving deals there and its now becoming the costa del sol, that some of the other parts of egypt might be worth a look?

i hear dahab is good, is it more costly? Friends have talked about livaboards, but these seem to be pretty expensive too.

ahhhh - why cant I find a decent cheap dive trip!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't be adverse to me and my friend going with a club on a pre-organised trip or something to be honest.

Could anyone recommend a good dive club based in central London with any good trips coming up (abroad) in end of April / beg May?
