About UK Divers .com

UKDivers.com UK scuba divers web site first started in November 2000 and reincarnated as UKDivers.com on the 25th February 2002.

I started this site after taking up diving while on a holiday to Kenya in 2000. That's not the only thing I started I got myself wed to my Princess while there.  we had no plans to marry in Kenya until a week into a fortnights break.

Three days of this final week were taken up with a three day safari and our dive course (now this was a busy holiday). The day after the wedding we took our final written tests and managed to squeeze in a final three dives, we were hooked.

The site first kicked off as a fairly basic dive web site, with a list of links to other UK Diving related web sites.

Trawling the web made me realise that a large  majority of sites were commercially based, took forever to download (because of all the ads), looked and felt amateurish or were just plain boring. Fortunately the standard has increased ten fold in the last couple of years.

My aim is too publish a UK Divers site that takes into consideration all recreational divers, from novice to technical.

This was and continues to be aided and abetted by divers of all levels and agencies (too too many to mention) who have assisted with valuable contributions to the Diving Forum and their generous permission to publish diving related articles.

This site endeavours to be a not for profit site written by divers for divers.

You can help, join and contribute to the forums, if you've written an article that could be of use to fellow divers send it in. If you have a suggestion as to how we can improve or expand this resource post it in the UK Divers Forum. Tell a Friend (without visitors this site will just fade away like many before it) it all helps.

Meanwhile thanks again to all who have and continue to contribute time and effort to UKDivers.com

The UK Divers Community

One of the most interesting possibilities of the World Wide Web, is the making of community. Oh, there are many sites that talk of "their visitors their community" but, community is not just members communicating with the central website it's about them communicating with each other.

That's what we are creating - a true community of scuba divers talking to one another, as you would at a local dive centre. Only, now you can do it from home or office while reaching out around the world.

Join the Forums, make contact. (Peter descends soap box and retires for the night)

The Divers Forum

The Divers Forums offer a place to ask questions or chat about diving related topics or find yourself a buddy for your next dive trip or holiday, be it here in the UK or further a field.

The Dive Directory

Within the Dive Directory you will find lists of Scuba Diving Clubs, Shops, PADI, BSAC, SSI and other training agencies plus lots of other scuba related web sites.
You may add your link to this directory by clicking on the Add Your Link menu item at the bottom of each page in the appropriate directory listing
