This is for information only to warn you and your fellow divers.
Apologies if you have already received this email
Back in March 2002, after much searching and selection we booked a Liveaboard holiday for 25th October 2002 with REDSEADIVERS to The Brothers & Elphinstone for 4 people on the M/Y Rosetta.
On 30th May 2002 we received a letter informing us, that our trip had been cancelled because "the M/Y Rosetta is being taken by a full group".
The booking confirmation REDSEADIVERS provided us with back on 07/03/02 states :-
Liveaboard Booked ......please note that liveaboard sailings/boats are subject to minimum numbers being reached and itineraries are subject to political circumstances or weather conditions.
No mention of larger group bookings taking preference, surely this is breach of contract. They are not offering any form of financial compensation, instead they are offering 2 alternative trips, not covering the itinerary, or boat we require.
Subsequently we have discovered TONY BACKHURST is sole agent for the Rosetta and now REDSEADIVERS are blaming TONY BACKHURST and vice versa.
But where does this leave us - the innocent diver who booked a holiday in good faith - had the holiday confirmed and now cancelled. This is a case of the BIG BOYS not giving a damm about the little people - their only concern
being profit.
Surely they cannot treat people in this fashion and surely there is something that can be done to protect other divers from this huge disappointment, greater for us as the departure date is my Birthday and the reason for our trip. Quite frankly it leaves a bad taste and I hope others divers do not have to go through this very disappointing experience.
If you think we have been treated badly please send an email to REDSEADIVERS@BTINTERNET.COM and TONY@SCUBA.CO.UK telling them what you think of them. Also please forward this email to your fellow divers to warn them.
Kindest Regards
Kathy & Bob
