Pains
Frog Since May 2001 I've had pains in lower R abdomen, and been to the docs so many times I've lost count. He prods and mumbles "hmm grumbling appendix, come back if the pain gets worse." This afternoon about 15:10hrs, I ended up doubled over on the floor, screaming in pain. It lasted about one and a half mins, pain was like a stitch except it wasn't in my side. I wake up in the night with this pain, am sick, have swollen stomach. Casualty send me packing as does the GP. I've tried breathing fire and jumping up and down, but 2 GP's and casualty don't seem interested. HELP
STEVE Hope nothing serious is wrong Frog. Get well soon. Never test the depth of the water with both feet!
Frog Thanks Steve, FYI and Pete, I phoned the surgery and got nowhere. I stressed it was important, and got nothing. So sod 'em, I'm off to casualty again tonight, and will shout, breathe fire, jump up and down and generally play merry hell until something is done. Pain like this is not normal. Allbeit once in a while and an 'ache' between times, it's still not right. I'll keep you guys informed. Thank you again for your thoughts.
STEVE Seems to be getting more and more difficult to get to see your GP these days. I was quoted over 1 month just to see the practice nurse yesterday when I really needed to see her immediately. I also tell them I will try the local casualty if they can't see me and then the A&E at Bath if that fails. Anyway, hope that things get sorted soon. Take care. Never test the depth of the water with both feet!
Frog Thanks for your support guys. I went to casualty last night, and have sent you Pete, and Steve, a private message telling you a bit more about what went on. It's something and nothing, but I wasn't to know that - I am not a medic! Cheers again, dive safely.
PeterT Get back to your GP or hospital Frog, it sounds like and appendix problem to me but then again I’m not a doctor. Without a doubt you have a medical problem and it cannot be ignored, unfortunately I have found in the past that to get the attention you require you have to lay it on thick and not take no for an answer, being brave and putting up with pain is not the answer moan like hell at the hospital and if necessary exaggerate every discomfort, make them listen and do not assume they know what they are talking about you know your body best of all, but these are clearly not the symptoms of a well woman. I wish you well and do hope this is sorted for you. ~~ PeterT ~~ Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat its mistakes. [UNKNOWN]
Frog Thanks Pete, I'll phone in a few mins and play merry hell. Again! I haven't had my appendix out, but I may have done something as silly as pull a muscle in that area as I work out in the gym 4 nights a week. On the other hand, it could be more serious, as you suggest. Funnily enough a savage workout cures it, as does a dive. I feel fighting fit for 2 days after a dive, then gradually slide backwards. Dive safely.
