As we have a rant thread, I thought a happy thread would be a good idea. I'll kick it off with this. My lovely wife was asking some suspicious questions about the AOW I had planned to do in Sharm in October. I wrongly assumed that she was going to have a go about spending so much of our holiday underwater, but no, quite the opposite. I had spotted the AOW course for £180 all in from a place called Scubadivers in Tamworth and was trying to work out how to get the money together sharpish. SWMBO came home from shopping and handed me £180 in crisp new twenties! Seems she had been planning it for a while and had sold a load of old gold to a place in town.
Your lovely wife has been thinking he will do his AOW anyway so why let him do it in lovely clear warm water in Egypt when I can make him do it in a cold quarry with low vis hardly any fish and he has to get up four hours before he goes to bed to secure a parking place.
Alternatively, she fancies spending her days sunning herself on the top deck of a dive boat, not hanging round a dive centre while he does shore dives as part of his AOW course. Either way though, he gets his AOW paid for and gets more time for enjoyable pleasure dives while in the nice warm, clear waters
:lol: . . . no I'm sure it was out of the goodness of her heart. :sneaky: Ah no it was a lovely gesture! (BTW - I will have something that cheers me up tomorrow but I'll tell you about it then!)
What cheered me up today???? (11/06) I officially got my paperwork stamped saying I can stay on Oz forever! Yipppeeeeeee.
What Cheered Me Up Today Revealed I went to the BBC studio in Manch to record something as part of a radio 4 programme called Law in Action. It will be braodcast on 23rd June if anyone is interested!
My little boy cheers me up every morning - even though being asked to play pirates at 5:30 this morning was pushing it a bit
Hugs from the kids!! And delirious, if noisy, welcomes from the dogs - even if I've only been away for 10 minutes or so!!
Starting my new fitness regime cheered me up today. After not using my bike for 3 months I went out and did about 8 miles today, and met up with an old friend who I haven't seen for about 2 years! Lounging in front of the TV whilst recouperating will cheer me up this afternoon.
I have 3 more days of work before i set off for Ilfracombe and diving Lundy at the weekend (fingers crossed for the weather)
can we have a what didnt cheer me up thread too...........or am i just being a miserbale so n so......
